Rooftop leak sealing and membrane repair

 

The environment constantly stresses roofs. As they are near the ocean, the waterproofing membranes are exposed to direct sunlight, rain, pollution, and salt, which can decrease their effectiveness over time. As a result of the reduced performance, the concrete and other building elements can become vulnerable to water infiltration, resulting in extensive and costly repairs.

It is best to address a leak at an early stage even if it appears to be superficial. It takes only a small problem to develop into extensive waterproofing and concrete defect repairs.

As part of their maintenance program, the body corporate of this building inspects the waterproofing system on the rooftop regularly.

As soon as they discovered that the rooftop waterproofing membrane was showing signs of wear and some signs of water ingress into the building beneath the rooftop, they engaged Singapore Waterproofing to inspect and fix the leak.

On our inspection, we noted areas around the pipe penetrations where water may enter between the construction slab and the topping slab. To seal off the water entry points, we recommended high-pressure leak sealing injections of polyurethane resin into the pipe penetrations on the roof. Fortunately, a complete waterproofing membrane refurbishment was not required, since the existing membrane was in good condition and only needed some minor repairs.

 

LEAK SEALING INJECTIONS AND REMEDIAL WATERPROOFING WORKS COMPLETED BY OUR TEAM OF LEAKS SEALING SPECIALISTS:

 

  1. Mechanically remove identified areas of waterproofing membrane requiring repairs.
  2. Install polyurethane modified acrylic membrane with water-borne epoxy moisture barrier primer.
  3. around the bases of stands for ducting.
  4. Treat all joints and visible cracks with premium joint sealant.
  5. Perform high-pressure leak sealing injection of polyurethane resin to the pipe penetrations on the rooftop to stop water ingress between the topping slab and construction slab.
